Job description

Global Head of Data Management | 4-month Contract | London

The Global Head of Data Management ensures that the fit-for-purpose functional strategies are set, and expected performance is delivered through effective resource allocation by the assigned Master Data Teams, while ensuring qualitative and accurate completion of services and key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

You will be playing a critical role in the Master Data Operating Model execution, expansion, and transformation, globally.

Record to Report (R2R), Requisition to Pay (R2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Treasury and HR processes and data requirements awareness and understanding are core to the success of anyone taking this role.

You are expected to provide thought leadership and objective evaluation of impacts on data in relation to any proposed process changes. You are a driver of the data governance processes for all aforementioned data objects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery of the conceptual design, definition, templates, quality criteria and master data process for effective R2R, O2C, R2P, Treasury and HR global master data standards governance across the key information systems
  • Establishes Action Plans and Operational Strategies at regional and global level, to achieve the objectives regarding the volume of staff assigned to the service line.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end coordination and delivery ("assurance") of the data quality management processes in relation to any reported data incidents that are impacting operation of the allocated business processes in the specified geographical / organisational area
  • Establishes Action Plans to meet the Key Performance Indicators at global level (Transformation and Business Operations carried out in the usual way)
  • Work in close collaboration with Global Data Owners and Process Experts to ensure all data elements are correctly defined and enforced in the landscape systems.
  • Ensure understanding and alignment to other functional standards (notably Finance, HR, Operations, Brand Marketing and Product), to ensure an overall consistent Group approach to master data standards management.
  • Collaboration with other Service Lines
  • Innovation; Active involvement in the development of digital solutions, in the design and implementation of future system changes, drive for continuous improvement of the existing operations (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
  • Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities


Skills & Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of business and data operating models, at least 5 years working experience in the data space, with experience in R2R, P2P, O2C, Treasury or HR areas, technology or related subject (e.g. MDM)
  • Strong Business Acumen and relevant working experience in multinational matrix organizations
  • Excellent management skills, guidance and motivational skills are essential, given the volume of staff in the departments.
  • Experience in effectively leading change
  • Strategic and conceptual thinking
  • Strong people and organizational change leadership
  • Ability to establish and leverage trusted relationship with business stakeholders.
  • Intermediate IT competency level, technical skills are required to fully understand implications of proposed Target Operating Model & Template Design changes, as well as to understand the functionality of the Data Quality Reporting tool.
  • Ability to identify, initiate and lead work on cross-functional data issues; Capability to estimate the resources needed to achieve your own work plans or objectives and to deliver them in the most efficient and cost-effective way, timeously
  • Agile mindset, unafraid to voice own opinion and back it up with strong, fact-based evidence.
  • Inquisitive, resilient, and prepared to take lead on agreed change initiatives.
  • Data management experience, including in-depth knowledge of data modelling, data integration, data configuration, and general database concepts is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proven competence in project management techniques (AGILE, PRINCE2) and work prioritization is an added asset.
