Job description
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Production Engineer to join their growing team. As a Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in assisting the production team by creating CNC programs using the latest techniques and EdgeCam software. The ideal candidate will have hands-on skills, along with experience in offline programming and be able to provide technical support across all manufacturing areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create CNC programs using the latest techniques and EdgeCam software
- Solve technical problems and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
- Implement the latest tooling and work holding to improve production processes
- Assist in producing competitive manufacturing quotes based on the latest tooling and techniques
- Provide technical support in all manufacturing areas
- Produce manufacturing estimates for make-to-drawing parts and projects involving sub-contract
- Raise structures, routings, and BOMs on the system to maximise production efficiency
- Identify suitable materials and arrange for allocation or purchasing to ensure efficient production
- Create accurate manufacturing documentation and communicate the job progress plan
- Document and store machine programs and tooling requirements for future use
- Identify opportunities to improve work holding, tooling, and cutting technology
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience in production engineering, particularly in small batch high-value parts
- Proficiency in CNC programming, specifically using EdgeCam software
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to provide technical support
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams and departments

Duration: Permanent with a 3-month probation period
Contracted Hours: 8am-5pm Monday - Thursday and 8am-1pm Friday
