Introduction
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Procurement professional for a secondment opportunity with TFL. This contract position offers a unique chance to contribute to an important Rolling Stock Procurement bid within the rail sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the procurement process for the Rolling Stock Procurement bid.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to identify procurement requirements and develop effective strategies.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and make informed recommendations.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring value for money and mitigation of risks.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues or disputes, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Track procurement metrics and provide regular reports to management, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Significant experience in procurement, preferably within the rail industry.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Proven ability to manage complex procurement projects and deliver successful outcomes within specified timelines.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on achieving value for money.
- Ability to analyse market trends and make informed decisions based on supplier capabilities, quality, and costs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
- Proficient in using procurement software and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
