Role and responsibilities

As a data scientist, you will help improve the bank's data usage at a large scale and in all core functions, focusing on tailoring the products and services offering to customers, promotion of digital engagement, increase in customer satisfaction, risk assessment, fraud detection, AML and pursuit of operational efficiency. You will be integrated in an AI cross-functional team, working with a talented team of Data Scientists, Data and ML Engineers and Business Translators, ensuring business and delivery focus and alignment of the different areas within the bank. You will work mostly in a cloud based technological environment, taking advantage of its scalability and frequent release of new features and tools.

Combine deep data and analytical skills with strong business acumen to solve business problems by understanding, preparing and analyzing data to predict emerging trends and provide recommendations to optimize business results.

• Deep understanding the bank's data sources.
• Clean data and validate readiness for analytical processes.
• Improve the modelling of events and behaviors.
• Improve the models' performance (ensure feasibility and reliability).
• Define the data science approach, testing hypothesis and discussing findings with the other members of the squad.
• Monitor performance of deployed models over time.
• Work as an effective team player in an integrated value chain of Data scientists, Data and ML Engineers, and Business Translators, to ensure capacity to deliver AI solutions at full industrial scale.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field.
• Fluent in Portuguese, good knowledge of English.
• At least 3-5 years' experience in Data Science / Machine Learning. Fundamental understanding of the most common Machine Learning algorithms.
• Expertise in the training and testing of models, handling large datasets, and comfortably applying DS techniques to tackle: dimensionality reduction, leakage, overfitting, etc.
• Good knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Experience with development and deployment of models in cloud environments like GCP, Azure or AWS.
• Exposure to models performance monitoring is a plus.
• Knowledge of Deep Learning is a plus.
