The Job

A major utilities organisation is requiring a Performance Analyst to join them in their offices in Worthing on a permanent basis.

The aim of the role is to proactively, and in response to business demand, create accurate and insightful analytical outputs, providing actionable outputs to enable business change and understanding, including compliance monitoring, root cause analysis, asset maintenance, time series analysis & predictive analysis.

Scope of role

The Performance Analyst is responsible for analysing data from across the business, providing insightful, clear & actionable outputs to a wide ranging audience. The Analyst will conduct root cause analysis & deep dives providing understanding to decision makers. Alongside this the Analyst will proactively implement predictive analytics in key business areas, such as site compliance, producing effective visualisations to clearly communicate outputs. The Analyst will be aware of statistical techniques in analysing data & will be able to conduct correlation & regression analysis, conduct predictive analysis on time series data & be skilled in programming language(s) to created scripted, repeatable, outputs.

Major accountabilities of role - (Approx % of time spent in role)

  1. Carry out exploratory ad-hoc analysis on variable datasets in response to business demand, focussing on accurate, clear and insightful results 20%
  2. Perform root cause analysis, enabling data driven decision making & improving business understanding 15%
  3. Implement predictive analytics to assist with decision making and risk management 10%
  4. Work with colleagues in the wider Data Team in automating reports and dashboards, focussing on self-service outputs 10%
  5. Visualise and communicate results of analysis, at peer level and above, to audiences with varying data literacy 30%
  6. Keep up-to-date with data techniques and tools 5%
  7. Assist with and suggest improvements to the companies data landscape 5%
  8. Coach and be coached by colleagues on data analysis techniques 5%

Knowledge/experience:

  • Good numerical, statistical and analytical skills
  • Excellent data visualisation skills
  • Experience with programming language(s) preferably R, Python &/or MatLab
  • Knowledge of predictive analytics techniques
  • Knowledge of correlation & regression analysis

Ideal position for a recent graduate with any knowledge of data analysis, compliance monitoring, root cause analysis, asset maintenance, time series analysis & predictive analysis.

Salary available between £28,000-£35,000 depending on experience. With extensive benefits package.
