Our client, an IT service Provider, is requiring a Service Desk Analyst to be based in Brussels. You must be able to understand, speak and write in English and French.

The Job

Our client, an IT service Provider, is requiring a Service Desk Analyst to be based in Brussels. You must be able to understand, speak and write in English and French.

Nature of the tasks

  • User guidance and support regarding the use of information systems / ICT tools
  • Follow-up of incidents related to information systems organisation of the reporting
  • Follow-up of user requests
  • Analyze, report and follow-up of bugs
  • Writing user documentation for Information Systems
  • Deliver guidance and coaching on information systems
  • Provide support and guidance on collaborative tools
  • Provide IT communication through different type of support (i.e. intranet, newsletters, Tip and Tricks, etc.)

Knowledge and skills

  • Proven knowledge in end user assistance and support of information systems
  • Good IT skills
  • Knowledge of wiki, collaborative sites and social networks
  • Excellent communication / writing skills.
  • Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings
  • Able to use the office automation tools used in the Commission (MS-Office).
  • Know basic queries to fix analyse and solve issues
  • Good knowledge of SQL Developer
  • Able to read logs

Candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
  • Ability to understand, speak and write French and English

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method and, more specifically, to follow naming conventions and coding standards
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on a large project

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant studies after the secondary school (2 years of professional experience can compensate 1 year of study)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with a project management methodology (e.g. Prince2)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in RUP or another software development process methodology
  • Experience with quality procedures. (e.g. ISO 10006:2003)

Candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance and able to attend a face to face interview in Brussels.

Role paying up to €225 per day LTD/Freelance. Fixed term contract rates available.
