The Job

IT Service Desk Manager - End User computing services, desktop support, ITIL, incident & problem management, service delivery - Newcastle - managing a large IT service desk team supporting a range of technology

In this critical role for a national organisation, you'll be responsible for the delivery of IT support for a spread of technology, applications and IT services. You will interface with specialist teams and key business stakeholders to help define and set the IT support strategy, mentor and direct a large team and communicate service issues and successes to the business as a mouthpiece for IT support and improvements internally.

Ideal applicants will have a strong service desk management experience, a background in ITIL incident and problem management and be used to working with large scale, complex, business critical services. You'll need a demonstrable background in -

  • Managing the delivery of IT support to a large / enterprise scale business
  • ITIL reporting and monitoring for support trends
  • Mentoring and professional development planning
  • Reviews and performance management
  • Recruitment, headcount planning & staffing plans

The role will be mostly hands off but on occasion you'll need to dip in to technical conversations or act as an escalation point so a technical background would be preferably. In return, a salary of up to £40k is on offer with a good package
