The Job

A leading defence contractor is requiring a 2nd/3rd Line Support to join their offices in Reading on an initial 12 month contract.

Security requirements -
This role will require the person to hold full DV Clearance prior to working onsite. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain DV. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and VTC problems - diagnosing and solving. Both remotely and at remote sites. Primarily at a 2nd Line level of support.
  • On-site installation and configuration of desktop and server hardware, software and peripherals
  • Installation and configuration of router/firewall devices and networks
  • Administration and troubleshooting of customer on-premise services
  • Administration and troubleshooting of video conferencing systems
  • Take ownership of more complex problems through to resolution
  • Liaising with third party hardware and software vendors for support when required
  • Installation and testing of small CAT5e/CAT6 structured cabling networks and associated hardware
  • Lead the pro-active monitoring of customer services and networks
  • Call logging and administration using our helpdesk system
  • Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time and managing the work for the team
  • Produce technical or procedural documentation when required
  • Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals
  • Test and evaluate new technology
  • General office duties when required

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server, Windows 7/10, IP Networking and Firewalls
  • 3 years minimum 2nd Line support
  • Full driving licence
  • Passport
  • You should be self-motivated to learn and advance your technical knowledge to a more senior position, with a keen interest in the IT industry and new technology.
  • You should be able to work on your own (sometimes under pressure for time or technical issues), but also as an important part of our small, friendly, team of engineers and office staff.
  • The role is customer facing and as a representative of the Company, so your customer and liaison skills must be exceptional.

Contract paying in the region of £400 per day LTD/Umbrella depending on experience.
