You are an experienced Programme Manager with a proven background delivering large, complex IT / Systems Integrations projects / programmes.

The Role:

You will be responsible for planning and managing projects and programmes of varying levels of complexity and with significant interdependencies with active projects or existing systems. You will work with stakeholder from across the IT arena to include product Owners, Solution Leaders as well as Business Owners to define, shape and scope project objectives whilst you will also be tasked with forming the project teams capable to deliver.

This programme manager role will oversee the projects from initiation through to delivery and will therefore require solid experience in similar roles as well as the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of seniority.

Key duties

Directs and manages projects from beginning to end. Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business and IT goals, in collaboration with business owners, product owners, and other stakeholders.

* Develops labour estimates, cost estimates, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and overall plans for projects. Determines the human resources - roles and skills - required to achieve project goals.

* Provides leadership in forming the appropriate project team and communicate clear vision of objectives in order to meet those objectives.

* Ensures that appropriate timing, resources, and sequencing of the work efforts are aligned to produce the desired results within the project schedule.

* Ensures that project and product interdependencies within a programme of multiple projects (and across other business lines and programs) are considered and are tracked as projects are planned and executed.

* Conducts comprehensive project status reviews of a program of related projects and system and project interdependencies.

* Proactively identifies risks and develops contingency plans, identifies issues and manages their timely resolution.

* Tracks risks and issues in appropriate repositories and ensures their visibility to the people required to resolve them. Escalates risks and issues as appropriate.

* Monitors overall project progress and manages any changes in project scope. Tracks financial performance of the project, including actual to budget tracking for labour hours and dollars, operating costs, and capital costs.

  • Managing large, complex IT / Systems Integration projects/programmes, including vendor/partner management
  • Commercial and contract experience
  • Demonstrable experience in managing IT projects
  • Managing programme deliveries
  • Experience in leading a programme management teams of 10+ staff
  • Waterfall and Agile methodology
  • Sound people management and leadership skills
