Job description

| 12 Months Contract | £79.16ph UMB / £60ph PAYE | Inside IR35

Security level

This role will require the person to obtain full Security Clearance (SC) You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to Caveat Material which means there are restrictions on nationalities. Therefore, you must hold sole British Nationality to apply for this role. If you are unsure as to whether you are eligible, please contact me to discuss.

Please note, due to the nature of the work, you may not be able to start working until SC has been obtained


Core Duties

  • Overseeing and authoring nuclear substantiation documentation to support the site safety case
  • Reviewing calculations & analysis work
  • Supporting periodic review of safety
  • Taking ownership of deliverables and demonstrating a high level of autonomy
  • Providing support of implementation of substantiation requirements
  • Working closely with Human Factors, Site Safety Case and Engineering Authority Teams
  • Support in the development of other Nuclear Substantiation team members
  • Collaborate with the wider business on Nuclear substantiation related activities

Experience required

  • Nuclear Design Substantiation
  • Knowledge of safety case
  • Appreciation of multiple engineering disciplines,
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Civil & structures background would be preferred.
  • Broad understanding of multiple engineering discipline's
  • Experience in nuclear, other high hazard, or highly regulated industry
  • Ability to produce high quality technical reports
  • Determined in driving all deliverable associated activities through due process
  • Excellent stakeholder management

Desirable qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council and a member of a relevant professional body;
  • Degree qualified in a STEM subject
