Our client, a Defence and Infrastructure suppler is looking for a Senior Safeguarding Manager to join them on a contract basis at their site in West Suffolk.

  • Long term contract for up to 5 years worth of work.
  • Hybrid working with 3 days a week onsite at the MOD site.
  • Rates are open to discussion, INSIDE IR35.
  • Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for SC Clearance.

Summary of the Role

The role of the Senior Safeguarding Manager is to ensure coherent compliance with statutory and mandatory regulations and standards across the portfolio. The postholder will provide key liaison with the wider governing bodies and Local Governing Authorities (e.g. councils and highways), providing advice to ensure all personnel have an understanding of compliance standards for standards. Where safeguarding compliance may conflict across standards, the post holder will provide or facilitate an agreed way forward or advise of a precedence from previous projects.

Skills:

Essential

  • Ability to prioritise, organise, identify issues, and proactively resolve them.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK engineering standards and regulations
  • Btech / HNC in engineering / Construction / Infrastructure Discipline or 10 years' experience working in infrastructure / engineering environments.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in the Ministry of Defence and/or other Government Departments or Public Sector organisations
  • Knowledge and experience of working on installations occupied by a Host Nation and Visiting Force or similar, where regulations and standards of both countries apply.
  • Security Clearance
  • Knowledge and experience of designing and delivering new construction, refurbishment, and replacement projects in Defence related locations.
  • Candidates will preferably hold a project management qualification APMP/APM(PMQ)/Prince 2 or equivalent
  • Experience in delivering munition storage or munition assembly buildings related projects
