Our client a cutting-edge aerospace engineering & manufacturing organisation who are committed to innovation and excellence, are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join them on an initial 1-year fixed term contract out of their site in Southampton.
Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines and budget constraints.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Proactively address and resolve issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Technical Oversight
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team throughout the project.
- Ensure that engineering solutions meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of expectations.
- Prepare and deliver regular project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Resource Management
- Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project performance.
- Collaborate with HR to identify and acquire additional talent when necessary.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising project integrity.
Continuous Improvement
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance project management processes and methodologies.
- Conduct post-project reviews to gather lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field - however, other qualifications will be considered
- Proven experience as a project manager in the aerospace industry or a similar Engineering/Manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
