The Job


The Senior IT Support Engineer job role joins a well established branded business based in London on a permanent basis and reporting into the Team Manager. The role requires taking ownership of incidents, service requests and strong technical problem solving skills to ensure that issues are seen through to resolution in a timely and effective manner.

You will be supporting a comprehensive set of hardware, software, and systems so that the team are a one stop shop for all platform services.

Key skills and experience:
You will ideally have Microsoft certifications (MCITP or greater) with demonstrable knowledge, as well as Virtualisation certifications (VCP or greater) with demonstrable knowledge.

  • Storage Management (EMC, HPE Dell EqualLogic and Compellent).
  • Experience of Enterprise Monitoring systems (SCOM 2012, SolarWinds, OneView).
  • Data Centre Management and design.
  • Cloud technologies and services such as Azure, Azure stack, AWS, VMC.
  • Excellent understanding of VMware virtualisation technologies and consolidation strategies. (6.x, 7.x) including vRNI, vRealize, vRA, vRO, NSX, HorizonView.
  • Backup technologies and services (CommVault).
  • experience of High Availability and DR environments in a commercially driven business.
  • proven knowledge of ITIL V3.

You will have experience with or understanding of desktop, virtual desktop, terminal servers, thin client, and end user mobile computing (technologies, architecture and solutions) and broad infrastructure technology concepts around software, hardware, networking, printing, data management, security, applications, and end user interfaces.

This is a highly visible and influential role within the business and plays a key part in ensuring issues and incidents with IT are resolved. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential to compliment the technical knowledge.

You will take ownership of incidents and problems through to resolution, drawing on necessary support from internal resource and 3rd parties when needed.
