The Job

The company have over 500 employees and a fantastic reputation within their sector, they have been established for over 30 years and have offices in Winchester and Worcester.

There are multiple openings for Java at different levels. They have teams working on new products and also developers focussed on maintaining legacy applications. You decide where you think you would fit best and what you would most enjoy.

There is a fantastic culture when it comes to training and progression. The company will support you with obtaining certifications for example. You also get a huge say in the direction the company takes in terms of technology. They are very flexible with remote working - the office is there but you don't need to go in.

Key responsibilities:

Undertake assigned software development activities such as:

    • New application development
    • Feature enhancements
    • Maintenance, fault investigation, and resolution
    • Code reviews

Requirements

Skills

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of Java and web/frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with MySQL
  • Knowledge of REST / SOAP / SOA
  • Problem solving skills
  • The ability to convert business and/or technical level requirements into successful implementations

Advantageous

  • Nodejs/Angular/Formly experience
  • Apache Tomcat and Servlet API
  • Gradle and Groovy
  • TDD, XP (Xtreme programming), Continuous Integration (CI)
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge of Atlassian software such as Bamboo and JIRA
