Job description
Team Lead Python Data Engineering
Lakes, Warehouses, Databases - Airflow - Python - SQL - Leadership
High Level
As a Team Lead at Bidnamic you will be contributing towards building and maintaining a high performance engineering culture. You will be given an environment allowing you to use your experience and lead from the front whilst also being a key decision maker in how we grow our platform.
How we work
We are strong proponents of async working - this means we have set up our working ways to accommodate for the fact that not everyone will be online when you need them. This means we don't do on-call or in person standups, rather we have a standup channel engineers post daily goals to. After reviewing these goals you can provide input to steer the ship and answer any questions. You might also arrange a quick huddle if you feel the project or discussion point warrants it. This makes for a very proactive culture, as each engineer is responsible to ensure they have what they need in good time in order for them to maximise their time and effort - like this we support each other.
What we looking for
- Strong understanding of database modelling techniques and schema designs
- Heard of or desire to learn Apache Airflow
- Experience working with third party API's for ingesting data
- Able to write clean python code
- Understand the importance of data validation and data integrity
- Keen eye for the detail and enjoy sifting through it
- Able to write minimal yet meaningful documentation
- Always looking to use AWS serverless technologies first
- Enjoy working with Datalakes, Data Warehouses, Dashboarding tools and Relational/NoSQL and Cloud Databases
- You keep up to speed with the tooling surrounding the data landscape as a whole and eager to tell others about it
- Able to map out complexity and focus on those elements that will bring value early
- Manage and mentor other data engineers and guide them to reach higher levels of personal success
