The Job

IT Field Engineer required in Lincoln for 3 months. This role is to start asap and will pay up to £17.5 p/h Umbrella (inside IR35)

The principal purpose of the job will be the implementation of a project to install and configure new desktop and laptop devices.

Deploying new Desktops and Laptops across numeroud sites, adapting to on site changes across Lincolnshire, while taking a flexible approach to meet client expectations

Key Responsibilities

  • The IT Field Engineer will be required to install and configure ancillary equipment such as keyboards, monitors, and printers where necessary.
  • Windows 10, Office applications, basic networking principles, desktop and laptop hardware, printers and other peripherals
  • To be a key contributor to the successful delivery of the project to replace aging desktop and laptop hardware in General Practice.
  • Able to deliver complex IT support directly to a demanding customer, with tact and sensitivity
  • Detailed knowledge of systems and infrastructure required to diagnose and resolve complex integrated service issues, such as: Microsoft operating systems and applications, configuration of network printers, endpoint updates issues, infrastructure installations, complex hardware and software installs, Anti-Virus Support, Cabinet patching, clinical system support, VPN remote access support.

Skills required

  • A valid UK driving licence
  • Degree in relevant IT subject or equivalent experience; industry recognised customer service qualification; Foundation certificate in ITIL Service management; Technical Qualifications such as MCSE, MCP or A+ Certification
  • Be familiar with ITIL V3 service management principles Experience in an IT service desk Environment Experience of delivering complex IT support directly to customers
  • Experience of supporting current Microsoft networking technologies including active directory IT remote control software
  • Good Working Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MS Office applications
