The Job

An Infrastructure Engineer job role for our client based in Edinburgh. The infrastructure engineer will be joining an already established infrastructure team who operate at the heart of the client services capability playing an integral part of the ongoing day to day efficiency of network and infrastructure systems.

What will you be doing?
The infrastructure engineer will demonstrate effective application of Infrastructure & Cloud expertise and extensive knowledge across a variety of technologies such as Microsoft Azure Cloud Platforms, Microsoft Windows Server Environments, Virtualized Environments, Microsoft Stack Technologies, Networking Technologies and Data Storage Technologies.

Being tasked with a mix of BAU support activities and project work, you will face off into stakeholders of all levels providing hands on 3rd line IT support service. The team this role joins is well established and there is support from day 1 to help with the transition into this role, but you will need to possess a proven experience support the tech involved.

You will be exposed to wide variety of technologies and this breadth will provide good standing to develop your career further. There is opportunity to move upwards within the team and beyond, as this client has multiple sites both UK and globally.

Infrastructure Engineer will need the following skills and experience:
* Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure;
* Virtualized Environments such as VMware and Hyper-V;
* Windows Server Environments, from Server 2003 - 2016, including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP and GP from design to implementation and support;
* General knowledge of Networking Technologies including load balancing and firewalls;

Hybrid working environment, where you will be expected to be onsite in Edinburgh office 2-3 days per week. Shift rota pattern (1 week in 6) that you will be included on.
